Course Description

Agricultural Microbiology is a basic science, which includes morphology, physiology, growth, genetics, ecology and circulation of material in the nature. It is a basic module for the students majored in Microbiology and Biotechnology. In the part of morphology, the structure of typical bacteria, actinomycetes, fungus and virus are discussed. In the part of physiology, type of microbial nutrition, means of transition of nutrition into cells, patterns of energy generation and the growth curve of bacteria are discussed. Decomposition of hexose under aerial and anaerial conditions, amination, nitrification, retronitrification and sulphuration are discussed as well. In genetics, heredity and variation of microbiology are discussed. In ecology, the mechanism of nitrogen fixation, the microorganisms in soil, the interaction between microorganisms in soil are discussed. This module is given through bilingual lectures in order to build up a solid foundation for both theories and English terms of Microbiology.
